Midjourney v7 is released

This week we saw the release of Midjourney v7 (alpha version) where users can now create images in “draft” mode. What this does is produce images at a lower resolution but with much shorter processing times, allowing for quick edits by continuing to prompt the AI for changes.

For example, you can re-prompt by asking for a different object in the image or a different direction for the light to be coming from. And once you’re happy with the result, you can then get the high resolution version of the image.

This does a few things for the creative workflow. First it allows you to iterate and ideate more quickly in the exploration stage. And secondly, you’re not spending precious compute cycles generating images at a higher resolution because you might not use them as the final result.
